Footnotes:
(a) References are available upon request. This is a work in progress and all new information is greatly appreciated.
(b) Certain family members spelled their surname Elexander. This may have been the "old world" spelling and this practice has fallen into disuse.
(c) Later generational information is omitted to respect the privacy of family members.
(d) There is some thought that James Alexander may have been born in Ireland, but, at this time the evidence suggests Scotland.
(e) John MacNeill, father of Mary Ann, is the son of Murdock and Ann MacNeill. Murdock does not yet appear in any posted Island Register genealogies.
