William died BEF 1828, Bedeque, PEI.., Note: Resided, Bedeque, PEI. William Craig, and his wife Kennedy Copeland, arrived on the Island with the family of Gov. Walter Patterson. He was to be the tutor for Patterson's children. They arrived on Aug. 20, 1770. He became involved in politics, in 1773, a member of the first council and Leg. Assy. William Note: Resided, Middleton, PEI. William and Jane had 6 sons and two daughters. He was a member of the house of legislature and remained in office after 1774. He was the son of John and Ann Robins Craig of Lower Bedeque. On October 1, 1774, [Gov. Walter] Patterson called a second election. He and his council decided that the present house should be dissolved since the "respectable people who were expected to arrive in the summer of 1774 would give a greater choice of men"(Patterson to Dartmouth, May 1, 1774, C. O. 226, Vol 1, pg. 45) The new house met on October 4th, 1974 with eight members in attendance: John White, Robert Watson, Samuel Braddock, Benjamin Chappell, Adrian Van Brankle, James Richardson, John Webster and Cornelius Higgins. THe ten returning members were: Robert Stewart, John Budd, George Burns, Alexander Farquhar, Elisha Coffin, David Lawson, William Lawson, John Lord, William Craig, and William Warren.(Journal of the House of Assembly, St. John's Island, 1774, vol. 2, pp 1-2) Above from Canada's Smallest Province, Deyell, 1983, pg50.

He was one of the first settlers at Searleton. He and Elizabeth had 5 sons and 2 daughters. He and Mary had 1 son and 1 daughter.

Pg.39 Ann: Ann is the daughter of Reuben Tuplin and Rebecca Folland. Her father owned a carriage shop, store and forge where Robert apprenticed. Reuben was considered one of the richest men on the Island.

Lemuel died Oct 1929, Interred: Lower Bedeque Cem., PEI., Note: Resided, Kensington/Bedeque, PEI. Lemuel and Belle lived in Kensington where Lemuel started a carriage making business, later moving it to Summerside. In 1905, he moved his family to the Brae, then in 1916 took up residence in Bedeque. He died after being trampled by a horse. From "Remember Yesterday - A History of North Tryon, PEI." N. Tryon Hist.
