First Generation

1. John Duffy born 4 May 1823 in Ireland. He died 1903 in PEI; buried 1903 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lot 29, PEI.

According to 1901 PEI Census, John emigrated from Ireland in 1843

John married Mary McKenna. Mary was born 4 May 1838 in Ireland. She died 1912 in PEI; buried 1912 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lot 29, PEI.

According to 1901 PEI Census, Mary immigrated to PEI in 1840

John and Mary had the following children:

2 F i. Isabella Duffy born about 1855 in PEI.

3 F ii. Mary Duffy born 25 Nov 1858 in PEI; baptized 28 Nov 1858 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lot 29, PEI. She died in PEI; buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lot 29, PEI. Mary married James McKenna possibly 24 Jun 1900.

4 M iii. Michael Duffy born 13 Jan 1860 in PEI.

On 1901 PEI Census, Michael was residing with parents; no wife or children shown.

5 F iv. Bridget Duffy born 1864. Bridget was a Teacher.

6 F v. Theresa Duffy born 11 Sep 1865 in PEI; baptized 13 Sep 1865 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lot 29,PEI.

7 F vi. Catherine Duffy born about 1867.

+ 8 M vii. John Joseph Duffy born 25 Dec 1868. He died in 1967.

9 F viii. Anastasia Duffy born in PEI; baptized 25 Jul 1873 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lot 29,PEI.

Second Generation

8. John Joseph Duffy (John) born 25 Dec 1868 in PEI; baptized 1 Jan 1869 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lot 29, PEI. He died 1967 in PEI; buried 1967 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lot 29, PEI. John at one time mined lead and silver in Colorado.

John married Mary Whelan daughter of John Whelan and Ellen Shreenan about 1890. Mary was born 3 Apr 1869 in Summerfield, Lot17, PEI. She died in 1926; buried 1926 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, PEI. They had the following children:

10 F i. Ethel Duffy born 18 Aug 1893 in Leadville, Lake Co., Colorado, USA. She died 27 Jan 1984; buried in Jan 1984. Ethel never married but chose instead to join the Convent of the Sacred Heart and live a life of service.

+ 11 F ii. Mary Irmina Duffy born 6 Jan 1895. She died 27 Feb 1971.

12 F iii. Hannah Duffy born Nov 1896 in Leadville, Lake Co., Colorado, USA. Hannah was a teacher and a twin to Anna.

13 F iv. Anna Duffy born Nov 1896 in Leadville, Lake Co., Colorado, USA.

Anna was a teacher and a twin to Hannah.

One of the twins married an Androssan - and descendants of these families live in Rhode Island.

14 F v. Catherine Mabel Duffy born 26 Aug 1899 in Hinsdale, Hinsdale Co., Colorado, USA; baptized 10 Sep 1899 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pueblo, Colorado, USA.

15 M vi. Infant Duffy born in 1900; died in 1900.

16 M vii. George Cyrus Duffy born 10 Apr 1902 in Hinsdale, Hinsdale Co., Colorado, USA; baptized 19 Apr 1902 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Pueblo, Colorado, USA. He died 1905 in PEI; 1905 in PEI.

Third Generation

11. Mary Irmina Duffy (John Joseph, John) born 6 Jan 1895 in Freetown, PEI; baptized 19 Jan 1895 in St. James Catholic Church, Lot 67, PEI. She died 27 Feb 1971 in Summerside, PEI; buried 1971 in St.Malachy's Cemetery, Lot 27, PEI.

Irmina used to go to New York to visit her sisters (the twins).

Mary married John Anthony Stordy son of John Stordy and Margaret Murphy 25 Aug 1920 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, PEI. John was born 16 Nov 1896 in Brookvale, PEI; baptized 19 Nov 1896 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, PEI. He died 23 May 1980 in Shamrock, PEI; buried May 1980 in St.Malachy's Cemetery, PEI. John was a carpenter & a farmer.

John served his country in both WWI and WWII - during WWII, he worked in Halifax building ships. During WWI, he enlisted and was assigned to Depot Battalion of the Nova Scotia Regiment - Regimental # 3204522. At the time of his enlistment, he was a resident of New Wiltshire,PEI. See `Particulars of

Recruit' for a description and other information.

The family moved from Brookvale to Shamrock when their youngest child was about 12 years old.

John and Mary had the following children:

17 M i. John Lawrence Stordy born 1923 in Brookvale, PEI. He died 27 Apr 1943 in the air over Dusseldorf, Germany; buried 1943 in Reichswald Forest War Cemetary,Germany. John was a Flight Sgt. Air Gnr. RCAF.

18 F ii. Living Stordy.

19 M iii. George Anthony Stordy born 16 Nov 1925 in Brookvale, PEI. He died 11 Jul 2003 in Charlottetown, PEI; buried 15 Jul 2003 in St.Malachy's Cemetery, Kinkora, PEI. George was a farmer. George married Living.

20 F iv. Living Stordy.

21 M v. Cecil Michael Stordy born 1927 in Brookvale, PEI. He died 14 Jun 1945 in Aldershot, Nova Scotia; buried Jun 1945 in St. Joseph's Cemetery, PEI.
