I remember at one time she told us that at one period in history only aristocrats were allowed to wear buttons and the number of buttons allowed was an indication of ones rank. She also had a collection of military buttons from several periods of history. These two ladies were always cheerful and happy and a visit to their home left you felling like the world was a great place.
