Edward M Gosbee, a Spanish -American War Veteran and a member of William McKinley Camp, United Spanish War Veterans, of this city , passed away early this morning at the Essex County sanitarium, Middleton, where he was located for about three weeks receiving treatment after a lingering illness. He was 45 years 11 months 8 days of age. During the Spanish -American War he was an ambulance driver. He was employed for some time at the Grocery of Moses Babson and the Dolliver grocery on Main street and also at the bottling works of George A. Davis. He leaves beside his wife Mary E. (Hodgdon) Gosbee, one son Marshall Gosbee and his mother Mrs. Sarah Nelson , two sisters Mrs. Georgie E. Parsons and Mrs. Ella Hazard both of Boston.

July 13 1922 Gloucester Daily Times: The funeral of Edward M Gosbee took place yesterday afternoon at the home of his mother Mrs. Sarah Nelson , 10 Short St. Many relatives and friends and members of Wiliam McKinley camp. The funeral will be held Saturday morning when Mass will be celebrated at St. Joachim's Church at 9.00.

Mrs Parsons was the daughter of David Kennison and Delia (Tarr) Kennison and was born in this town about 39 years ago, and lived here until after her marriage, when she removed to West Berlin where she had since made her home. Besides her husband she leaves her 9 Children, her Parents and several Brothers and Sisters.
