The Will of Georgiana Cameron (1850-1885, Point Prim)


THE WILL OF MRS. GEORGIANA (Robertson) CAMERON (1850-1885) OF POINT PRIM

This is the last Will and Testament of me, Georgiana Cameron of Point Prim, Lots 57 and 58, Queens County, Prince Edward Island-

I hereby revoke and annul all other wills by me at any time or times made, and declare this to be my last will-

Whereas the legacy of the sum of Five Thousand Dollars is bequeathed to me in and by the Will and Testament of my Father the late Edward Roberson, of Newtown, Belfast, to be disposed of by my Will and Testament. I hereby give devise and bequeath the said sum of Five thousand dollars to my dear Husband Alexander Cameron of Point Prim, Lots 57 and 58 in Queens County aforesaid, Master Mariner for his own sole and separate use- and

Whereas I stand possessed of the sum of Six hundred dollars, a little more or less which appears to my credit in my account with the Dominion Savings Bank, at the Charlottetown Branch thereof, I hereby give devise and bequeath the said sum of six hundred dollars, in manner as follows that is to say:-

To the Board of Foreign Missions of the Presbyterian Church of Canada; the sum of One hundred dollars; Also

To the Board of Home Missions of the said Presbyterian Church of Canada the sum of fifty dollars; Also

To the Trustees of the Prince Edward Island Hospital, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island the further sum of Fifty dollars, also

To Mary O'Brien, Spinster, of Newtown Belfast, Queens County aforesaid, the further sum of Fifty dollars, also

To Mrs. MacLean, wife of Murdoch McLean of Point Prim aforesaid, the sum of Fifty dollars; also

To Flora Cameron, Daughter of Ewen Cameron, of Point Prim aforesaid the further sum of Fifty dollars, also

To Mrs. Ann Murchison widow of the late James Murchison of Point Prim aforesaid the further sum of Fifty dollars, also

To my dear Mother Mrs. Edward Roberson of Newtown aforesaid, the balance of the said sum of Six Hundred dollars, said balance being Two hundred dollars, a little lore or less.

I hereby appoint Richard Johnson of Charlottetown, aforesaid, Doctor of Medicine, and Frank H. Hazard also of Charlottetown aforesaid to be my Executors of this my Will.

This will was proved on the 21st February 1885 on the oath of Murdoch MacLean a subscribing witness on the same day Probate was granted to Dr. Richard Johnson, reserving power to grant the same to the other Executor when required, as certified by Charles Young. Judge of Probate.

NOTE: Georgiana Cameron was the first wife of Captain Alexander Cameron of Point Prim and Charlottetown. Georgiana gave birth to their only son Edward Roberson Cameron on February 1 1885 and died February 10th 1885, one day after this will was written. Their son Edward died March 26th of the same year.
