The Last Will and Testament of John Carroll (- 1900, Lot 34)

I John Carroll of Township thirty four in Queens County Prince Edward Island, farmer being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament.
1st I give and bequeath to my nephew Alfred J. Doyle fifty acres of the farm I live on known as Proudís fifty being the western moiety thereof provided he takes hold of the whole place and pay all lawful debts and expenses of my funeral and places a headstone over my father and mother and myself --- that my executors will approve of for which purposes he may use the surplus of Crop and Stock except the two year old filly which is to go to my brother Timothy as I owe him.
2nd I give and bequeath to my sister Margaret Carroll the remainder or the eastern moiety of the said farm during her life and at her death to revert to the said Alfred J. Doyle and he shall not have power to Mortgage or sell any part of the land without the consent in writing of my executors.
3rd I hereby appoint as my executor my brother Timothy Carroll of Charlottetown and my nephew William Duffy of Bunbury Lot 48.
In witness whereof I the said John Carroll set my hand and seal hereunto this Sixth day of December One Thousand Nine Hundred (1900)

presence of us who in his presence and in presence of each other and at his request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

This will was proved on the 18th day of December 1900, On the oath of Patrick Duffy one of the Subscribing witnesses thereto and was filed Registered and Probate granted on the same day to Timothy Carroll one of the Executors power being reserved to grant same to the other Executor when and if required
