The Last Will and Testament of John Solomon Cantelo (1829-1880, Glenfanning)

By the grace of God Amen I John Soloman Cantelo of Lot 54 Kings County Prince Edward Island being of sound mind and judgement do make this my last will and testament as follows

1st I bequeath to my beloved wife Mary fifty acres of land on the east side of the farm on the said Lot, and also all the cattle and farming implements with the exception of one black mare

2nd I bequeath to my two sons Dougald Peter and Alexander William Henry one black mare four years old

3rd I order that my executors will sell the west one hundred acres for to pay the debt on the place unless my sons John Soloman, John Donald and James Proctor will pay the debt and keep the said land for themselves

4th I bequeath to my son John Soloman one dollar

5th I bequeath to my son John Donald one dollar

6th I bequeath to my son James Proctor one dollar

7th I bequeath to my daughter Mary Elizabeth one dollar

8th I bequeath to my daughter Margaret Ann one dollar

9th I bequeath to my daughter Catherine one dollar

10th I bequeath to my daughter Jessie one dollar

I appoint James Cantelo and Philip Acorn my executors.

(John Soloman Cantelo age 51 yrs from Glenfanning, Lot 54 died on August 10,1880 from back injuries he received a few days earlier on a hay wagon accident.)
