Accomplishments:


  • Rescued and restored the neglected home where Sir Andrew was born in 1864.
  • Leased the 140 acre Macphail Homestead property in 1991.
  • Developed a business plan for the operation of the site as a museum, food service area, meeting/small conference and community celebration center.
  • Partnered with Environmental Coalition of PEI to facilitate the Macphail Woods Ecological Forestry project on the 110 acres of woodland and candidate natural area.
  • Enlisted the help of volunteers from the local community and across the Island to make the homestead a success.
