This Indenture made the eighteenth day of
December in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and forty between Robert Rennie
formerly of St. Johns in the Island of Newfoundland
presently residing in Charlotte Town Prince
Edward Island Gentleman of the one part and
David Stewart Rennie formerly of the City of
Edinburgh in that part of Great Britain called

Scotland presently of Charlotte Town aforesaid gentleman of the other part Whereas David Rennie sometime of Greenock in the County of Renfrew in Scotland, there after of the City of Glasgow in Scotland aforesaid merchant deceased was at the time of his decease seized and possessed of certain lands tenements hereditaments and premises on the said Island Prince Edward and inter Alien<<?>> of the Lot or Township lands hereditaments and premises herein after described and mentioned And Whereas the said David Rennie having in respect to his real estate in the said Island Prince Edward died Intestate the foresaid Township lands hereditaments and premises at his decease descended to the said David Stewart Rennie and to James Gower Rennie now deceased Janet Emma Rennie William Frederick Rennie and to the said Robert Rennie the whole lawful children of the said David Rennie deceased in the proportions prescribed by an Act of the General Assembly of the said Island made and passed in the Twenty first Year of the Reign of his late Majesty King George the Third and entitled an Act relating to Wills Legacies and Executors and for the settlement and distribution of the estates of Intestates viz In the proportions of two sixths to the said David Stewart Rennie being the eldest lawful son of the said David Rennie and one sixth to each of the said James Gower Rennie William Frederick Rennie and Emma Rennie and Robert Rennie being the remaining lawful Children of the said David Rennie deceased whereby the said Robert Rennie became vested and seized of an Estate of Inheritance fee simple of and in one undivided sixth part of the said Township lands hereditaments and premises And whereas the said Robert Rennie hath contracted and agreed with the said David Stewart Rennie for the absolute sale to him of fee simple and Inheritance of said one undivided sixth part of and in the said Township land hereditaments and premises hereinafter mentioned and of the rents and arrears or such other sums as may be reasonable for or in respect of the occupation thereof or of any part or parts thereof respectively at or for the price or sum of Six hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain Now this Indenture Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Six hundred pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain by the said David Stewart Rennie to the said Robert Rennie in hand well and truly paid on or immediately before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which sum of six hundred pounds he the said Robert Rennie doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and of and from the same and every part thereof Doth acquit release and forever discharge the said David Stewart Rennie his heirs executors and administrators and every of them by these presents he the said Robert Rennie hath granted bargained sold alien released and confirmed and by these presents Doth grant bargain sell alien release and confirm unto the said David Stewart Rennie in his actual possession now being by virtue of a bargain and sale to

thereof made by the said Robert Rennie for four shillings consideration by Indenture bearing date the day next before the day of the date of these presents for one whole year Commencing from the day next before the day of the date of the said Indenture of Bargain and sale and by force of the Statute made for transferring uses and possession and to his heirs and Assigns<<?>> All his<<?>> the said Robert Rennie undivided and sixth part of all that thainure<<????>> and those being the same Lot or Township land hereditament and premises which in and by certain Letters patent bearing date on or about the fifth day of October one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine under the hand of Walter Patterson Esquire Captain General and Governor in Chief in and over his Majesty's Island of Saint John otherwise Prince Edward Island aforesaid and the Trustees agreement thereto and under the Great Seal of the said Island thereunto affixed were granted unto William Winter and John Price Esquires and their heirs and assigns situate and being in the said Island Saint John now called Prince Edward Island in the Gulph of Saint Laurence North America marked Number Twenty three in the general Map or survey of the said Island made and taken by public authority Containing in the whole Twenty one thousand Acres separate and being in the Parish of Grenville in the Queens County in the said Island abutted and bounded as follows that is to say On the North by the open Sea on the South by the division lines Number Thirtyone and Thirtyfive East and West five Miles and afinreds<<????>> on the East by the division line Number Twenty four Twelve Miles in length and in the West by the division line Number Twentytwo North thirteen Miles in length with all and singular the timber woods and underwoods Forests<<??>> on growing<<????>> and all lakes rivers harbours and inlets of the se with the free fisheries and forolings<<???>> thereunto belonging and all the emoluments and advantage appertaining thereunto in as full ~~~ large and ample and beneficial a manner to all intents and purposes as the said Robert Rennie his heirs or assigns can shall or may have hold use sicifry<<????>> or enjoy the same under or by virtue of the said hereinbefore mentioned Grant or otherwise howsoever and the Reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents of oried<<????>> and profits thereof And all the Estate right title and interest inheritances use lsuot<<????>> property provision<<????>> benefit advantage claims and demands whatsoever both at law and in equity of him the said Robert Rennie of in to or net<<???>> of the same premises in any part or parcel thereof Together with the said Grant or Patent and all other Grants Deeds muniments<<???>> evidences or writings relating to the same hereditaments which he can obtain without suit at Law or in equity To have and to hold the said undivided sixth part of the said Township lands and Hereditaments and all and singular of this the premises hereby granted and released or intended so to be and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their rights Minutes<<????>> and appurtenances unto the said David Stewart Rennie his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said David Stewart Rennie his heirs and assigns forever And this Indenture further Witnesseth that for the consideration and also for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings of like lawful Money to him the said Robert Rennie in hand well and truly paid by the said David Stewart Rennie at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged he the said Robert Rennie hath granted bargained sold aliened transferred and set over and by these presents Doth grant bargain sell

assign transfer and set over unto the said David Stewart Rennie his executors administrators and assigns All and every the rent and rents and sums of Money which for or in respect of the use occupation or enjoyment of the said Township lands hereditaments and premises or any part or parcel thereof have accrued and become due and payable to the said Robert Rennie in respect of the said undivided one sixth share of said Township lands hereditaments and premises or otherwise howsoever from any tenant or tenants howsoever<<??>> persons who respectively is are or have been the esserien<<????>> pahen<<????>> or conveying of the same or any part or parcel thereof and also all such sum or sums of money Damages or other Compensation or Satisfaction in the nature of Misne<<???>> profits or otherwise which for or in respect of such use or occupation in any benifits<<????>> by any person or persons on or about the same he the said Robert Rennie is in letters<<?>> to have demand recover or receive from any such person or persons respectively as aforesaid To have and to Hold receive take and enjoy the said rents sums of money and other the premises hereinbefore assigned as mentioned and intended so to be unto and by the said David Stewart Rennie his executors administrators and assigns at and for his and their own proper monies<<????>> and effects absolutely forever and for the Considerations aforesaid and the better enabling the said David Stewart Rennie his executors administrators and assigns to have take reeeris<<????>> and receive the said rents sums of money and other the atsipen<<????>> premises and every part thereof he the said Robert Rennie Hath<<??>> made ordained<<????>> nominated<<????>> consituted and appointed and by these Presents Doth makes ordain<<????>> nominates<<????>> constitute and appoint and his place and stead put and depute the said David Stewart Rennie his executors and administrators his True and lawful Attorney or attorneys<<??>> and title<<?>> in my rrevocable in the name of the said Robert Rennie but to and for the use and benefit of the said David Stewart Rennie his executors administrators and assigns to unto<<????>> demand and secure the said sum and sums of money unto and other the premises hereby assigned and to sue for and take all other lawful means for the recovery thereof and every part thereof and for the recovery of Mesne<<????>> profits or other such damages as aforesaid and one or more substitute or substitutes under him or them for all any or other of the purposes aforesaid to nominate and appoint and the same to recike<<????>> And another or other from time to time to appoint when and as often as he the said David Stewart Rennie his executors administrators or assigns shall proper<<??>> the said Robert Rennie hereby owing and granting unto the said David Stewart Rennie his executors administrators and Assigns his or their substitute or Substitutes his whole forever and authority in the premises and satisfying allowing and conforming all and whatsoever the said David Stewart Rennie his executors administrators or assigns or such substitute or substitutes shall lawfully do cause to be done by virtue of these presents and the said Robert Rennie for himself his heirs executors administrators or assigns Hath convenant promise and agree to and with the said David Stewart Rennie his heirs and assigns by these presents in manner following that is to say that he the said Robert Rennie hath not at any time heretofore made done or consented<<???>> any Act deed matter or thing whatsoever whereby the said Township Lands hereditaments and promises hereinbefore expressed or any part or parcel thereof are is can shall or may be impeaching charged or encumbered in any wise however and that for and not withstanding any act deed matter or thing whatsoever had made done committed or suffered

by him the said Robert Rennie or by any person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him the said Robert Rennie more<<????>> at the time<<?>> of the sealing and delivery of their presents is lawfully and rightfully seized of and in or well entitled to the said undivided one sixth part of the said Township lands hereditaments and premises hereinbefore mentioned to be<<?>> hereby granted and released with their and everey of their appurtenances of and for a good sure perfect absolute and indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee Simple in possession and that for and not withstanding any such Act Deed Matter or thing as aforesaid he the said Robert Rennie now hath in himself good right full power and lawful and absolute authority to grant release and convey and assure<<?>> the same with the appurtenances unto the use of the said David Stewart Rennie his heirs and assigns in manner and form aforesaid and according to the true intent and meaning of these presents and also that it shall and may be lawful to and for the said David Stewart Rennie his heirs and Assigns from time to time and at all times hereafter peacably and quietly to enter into have hold use occupy possess and enjoy<<????>> the said undivided one sixth part of the said Township lands hereditaments and premises hereby granted and released or intended so to be with the appurtenances and to receive and take all and singular the rents issues and profits thereof and releasing<<???>> thereof to and for his and their own use and benefit without the lawful let<<?>> suit trouble or interruption of from or by the said Robert Rennie or any other person or persons who shall or<<????>> may at any time or times hereafter lawfully or equitably claim by from or under or<<?????>> in trust for him and that free and clear and freely and clearly and absolutely acquitted exonerated<<?>> and discharged or otherwise by him the said Robert Rennie his heirs executors and administrators well and sufficiently saved defended kept harmless and indemnified of from and against all and all manner of former and other Gifts grants bargains judgments executions<<??>> debts and of and from all other Acts deeds leases demises titles troubles charges and incumbrances whatsoever at any time heretofore had made Porie<<????>> suffered by him the said Robert Rennie or by any person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from under him And further that he the said Robert Rennie and all and every other person or persons whomsoever who shall or may at any time or times hereafter have or lawfully claim any estate right title or interest in the said Township lands hereditaments and premises whereof the undivided one sixth part hereby granted and released or intended so to be or any part or parcel thereof by from or under him the said Robert Rennie shall and will from time to time and at all times after upon the request and at the Costs and charges in the Law of the said David Stewart Rennie his heirs and assigns make do acknowledge<<?>> bevy<<????>> suffer or execute or cause or procure to be made done suffered acknowledged levied<<????>> and executed all such and further and other lawful and reasonable Act deeds and assurances in the law whatsoever for the further more perfect and absolute granting releasing assuring<<?>> and confirming the same undivided one sixth share of the said Township lands hereditaments and premises with the Appurtenances to the use of the said David Stewart Rennie his heirs and assigns forever And for the better assigning and enabling him or them to recover and secure the said rents sums of money and other the premises hereby assigned to and for his and their own use and behoof of absolutely as by the said David Stewart Rennie his heirs executors administrators or assigns or heirs their Counsel learned<<?>> in the law shall be reasonably devised advised or required<<?>> In Witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and year first above written//
