Jimmie loved P.E.I. and its people. He had spent some time working off Island in Montreal, Toronto, and Prince George, but most of his life was spent in Bonshaw. Later life was enjoyed in the Cornwall area with a neat property at Meadow Bank where he even raised foxes. He was a "frustrated" farmer as he preferred dealing with people, selling everything from fish to radios, shoes, poultry, etc. He enjoyed driving horses in the earlier years. He loved seeing all his many friends around Charlottetown. His dear wife, Melinda, predeceased him after 60 years of marriage.
