Was a farmer of considerable land ownership. Their home was considered a stopping place by many visitors. In 1910 90 acres of land was deeded to James J. Noonan for $1. Subsequently the balance of the farmland was deeded to the 4 sons to ensure they did not have to enlist for World War 1.

Their family bible is held by a granddaughter, Mrs Paula Wilson of Bedford, N.S. The front page records the owner as Mrs. Carrie Noonan, and is dated Aug. 15, 1884.

This excerpt is noted in the Dec. 6, 1900 issue of the Daily Examiner " Mr. William Noonan, a very prominent farmer of Albany and known as a great pig raiser, if not the best in the County, very recently killed 11 7mo. old pigs which when dressed aggregated 2400 wt. of pork, one of the pigs weighing 419 lbs. Mr. Noonan wishes to let the public know that he has one of the best brood sows in this country, having already given birth to 84 little pigs. Her age is now 5 years, 2 mos."

An article in a 1907 issue of the Guardian, recorded a "meeting of the Farmer's Institute at Albany, wherein Mr. Noonan advised from May 15 to date, the total receipts from actual sales of farm products amounted to $1528.44. This did not include late fall potatoes, much of the oats, the winter milk and a few other items. Mr. Noonan was warmly congratulated by his fellow members on the success of his farming operations. On being questioned as to his methods he explained that each of his four boys, whose ages ranged from twenty to fifteen, had his own department to look after, all working in harmony, comparing notes, discussing ways and means and adopting what they unitedly consider the best methods. He pays special attention to his cattle and his favorite breed is Holstein. Besides being a goood farmer Mr. Noonan claims to be an excellent angler....with.....his fishing partner Platts Cameron".
