The Will of Angus Docherty (-1869)

In the name of God Amen

Being now of the uncertainty of life though weak in body yet in possession of a sound mind in this my last will and testament I bequeath as follows.

In anticipation of death I do most humbly commit my soul into the Hands of Almighty God in full assurance of a Glorious Immortality.

In this my last will and Testament I bequeath to my Beloved daughter Catherine one Cow and Calf six sheep and Twenty pounds currency.

I bequeath to my beloved daughters Mary Ann, Christy, Effy, Margaret the sum of one shilling sterling or one shilling and six pence currency each. I bequeath to my beloved sons Donald and Angus the sum of one shilling sterling each.

To my beloved Son Malcolm I bequeath all the rest of my property comprising 94 acres of land with all the Buildings thereon erected, one mare and foal all the Cows and sheep with the exceptions of those willed to my beloved daughter Catherine, who is to have a home with Malcolm while she chooses to remain.

In this my last will and testament I appoint my beloved Sons Donald and Angus my sole executors.

Signed in presence of those witnesses this Fourth day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and sixty nine.
