In the name of God Amen. The nineteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty one. I Donald Matheson of Bell Creek Township sixty five Farmer being in a frail and delicate state of health but through the blessing of God in a sound state of mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament and for the good of my Family after my death. I dispose of my worldly effects in the following manner.

1st - I give and bequeath to my beloved Daughter Florah McLeod that piece or tract of land situate in Culloden fronting on the east side of Selkirk Road bounded on the south side by land owned by Donald McDonald and containing fifty acres together with twenty five acres fronting on the west side by land in the possession of Norman McLeod and on the north side by land the possession of John Gilmore.

2nd - I give and bequeath to my son Alexander that tract of land situate in upon Bell Creek commonly called Ross’s Hill fronting on the North side of James McKenzie’s mill pond, and 89 acres together with a piece of marsh situate on the south side of Bell Creek the front of Joseph Sanders(?) Farm and another piece of marsh on the same side of Bell Creek on the front John Compton’s farm together with a piece of land situate in Culloden bound on the east side by land in the possession of John Gillis, on the West by land in the possession of Alexander McLean containing forty four acres and also all the houses, ?, furniture, farming implements of all kinds, all the stock of horses cows sheep and all other effects which I own, or may own at the time of my death with the exception of what I hereafter will to my son Duncan*.

3rd - I give and bequeath to my son Duncan two head of horned cattle and also a two and a half year old mare.

4th - To the rest of my family viz Allan and Christy I have already given the share I consider due to them but I give and bequeath to each of them the sum of one dollar when demanded .

5th - and lastly to carry out the conditions of this my last will and testament I appoint Mssrs Donald Martin, James Gillis, and John A. Stewart to be my executors and anull and disallow all former wills and testaments.

In Witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
