Will of John Adams, the Elder

In the name of God- Amen. I, John Adams, the Elder of Lot or Township Number Twenty One (21) in Queens County in Prince Edward Island, Farmer, do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz.

First, I denie that my body may receive a decent and Christian burial, the Expense thereof to be paid by my Executrix, out of my personal Estate.

Secondly, I give and bequeath to my Wife Mary all my Household Furniture, Goods and Chattels and Cash, Whom I also constitute and appoint as Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament.

Thirdly, and Lastly, I give and bequeath to each of my Children viz. John, William, Thomas, Jonathan, Phebe and Lydia, the Sum of Five Shillings to be paid them by my Executrix and I so hereby disallow and revoke any former Will or Wills by me before made, Testifying and Confirming this to be my Last will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said John Adams the Elder have hereunto set my Hand and Seal, this 28th day of November in the Year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Thirty eight.

Registered on the 25th day of March 1843 on the Oath of James Pidgeon a subscribing witness.
