Last Will and Testament of John Lecky ( - 1892, Lot 16)

P.E.I. Registry of Wills, Book 13 page 187.

This is the last will and Testament of Mr. John Lecky of Lot 16 in Prince County in Prince Edward Island, Farmer.

1st – I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Ann O’Farrell the sum of One Hundred Dollars $100.00.

2nd – I give to my son William Lecky the farm of 64 and one half acres of land in township No.8 at present occupied by him, to hold unto him and his heirs and assigns forever. I likewise give and bequeath to my son William Lecky the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).

3rd – I give and bequeath to my son James Lecky his suitable support to be taken from the property which I leave to my son Joseph P. Lecky. But if he be not so provided for, I hereby empower my executor to have him provided for, and I hereby bequeath to them for that purpose the sum of Sixty Dollars ($60.00) annually for that purpose from the property which I devise to my son Joseph P. Lecky.

4th – I give an bequeath to my son David Lecky the sun of Two Dollars ($2.00).

5th – I give and devise to my son Henry Lecky my other farm of 64 and one half acres of land situated in township No. 8.

6th – I give and bequeath to my son John Lecky the sum of Two Dollars ($2.00).

7th – I give and bequeath to my daughter Catherine O’Farrell the sum of Forty Dollars ($40.00).

8th – I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth McNeil the sum of One Hundred Dollars (100.00).

9th – I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret McNeil the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).

10th – I give and devise to my son Joseph P. Lecky the farm at present occupied by me of 135 and one quarter acres of land. I likewise give and bequeath to my son Joseph Lecky all my stock, crop implements, household furniture and utensils and buildings on said farm subject to the following conditions:

    1. He shall suitably provide for my son James Lecky, failing to do so he shall pay him the sum of Sixty Dollars ($60.00) a year during his lifetime.
    2. He shall provide suitable for my widow, if she remain with him, if she prefers to leave the homestead he shall pay her the sum of Forty Dollars ($40.00) yearly during her lifetime.

11th – I give and bequeath to my wife Margaret Lecky, in lieu of dower, the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) besides her suitable support with my son Joseph – board, clothing, conveyance to and from church. Or, if she prefers to retire from the homestead of my son Joseph Lecky, I hereby give and bequeath to her in lieu of dower and in lieu of the above bequest, the sum of Forty Dollars ($40.00) annually during her lifetime; said sum to be paid by my son Joseph, or failing to do so by my executors as above provided.

12th - I give and bequeath to the Parish priest of Miscouche the sum of Forty Dollars ($40.00) for masses for the repose of my soul.

Lastly I hereby revoke all other wills and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me and I appoint Joseph P. Lecky, John Lecky and Rev John McDonald of Miscouche Parish as executors of this my last will and testament.
