Will of Lawrence O'Farrell, Lot 16 (1803 - 1875)

Province of Prince Edward Island Probate Court Register of Wills (Liber 8, page 851)

I, Lawrence O'Farrell, Farmer, of Lot 16 Prince County, Prince Edward Island being of sound mind and wishing to settle my temporal affairs do make this my Last Will and Testament.

I will and bequest to my oldest son James 60 acres of land beginning at James Kirk's line and running south along the Grand River Road six chains.

I will and bequeath to my son John the remainder of all my land on the West side of the Grand River Road.

I will and bequeath to my daughter Margaret and James McNeil the use and privilage of all the land, about nineteen acres more or less on the East side of the Grand River Road running along Ramsay's line, as long they shall remain single or leave the place when the said piece of land is to be divided equally between my two son John and James.

I order that my son John must maintain my daughters Margaret and Mary as long as thy remain in the place and not married and John give to the said daughters Margaret and Mary the privilage and use of the _____ and the best room if they wish to make use of it.

I also order that my son John maintain James McNeill as long as he remains in the place and single.

I also will and bequeath to my daughter Margaret two cows and a two year old heifer and four sheep.

I also will and bequeath to my daughter Mary one cow and a two year old heifer and two sheep.

I also will and bequeath to James McNeil a two year old colt, a three year old heifer and two sheep.

To my son John I will and bequeath all the remainder of my stock except a one year old heifer which I will to my grand child Anastatia .

I will to my daughter Margaret the chest of drawers and one father bed and a feather bed to my daughter Mary. I also order that Margaret shall have the first foal out of the mare Jess.

I hereby appoint Edward Lauchlin and John Lacky as the Executor of this my last will and Testament.
