Last Will and Testament of Norman Nicholson

I, Norman Nicholson of Sparrows Road in the County of Kings County Province of Prince Edward Island Township Fifty one Farmer make this my last Will and testament

I give demise and bequeath my estate and property real and personal as follows - I give bequeath and devise to my son Donald Nicholson my farm on which I now reside with buildings thereon situated on Township Fifty one in Kings County bounded as follows -
On the East by Angus Nicholsons Land West by Henry McKennas Land South by Sparrows Road and North by Land in possession of James Mellish containing by Estimation one Hundred Acres of Land more or less to have and to hold the said premises with the appurtenances to his Sole and Separate use.

I also give and bequeath to the said Donald Nicholson all my Household furniture Farming implements and all the residue of my personal property after payment of my debts.

I also give and bequeath to my wife Anne Nicholson a maintenance out of the aforesaid property Should She desire to remain on the Homestead with the use for her own occupation of a room in the dwelling House aforesaid. And should she not remain on the said Homestead to be paid annually by the said Donald Nicholson out of my estate the sum of Fifty Dollars per Annum for Her own separate use.

I also give and bequeath to Annabella Boulter a Schooling and sufficient clothing and maintenance until she desires to leave the premises then she is to receive the Sum of Ten dollars in Currency to be paid by the said Donald Nicholson.

I also give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Nicholson at any time she may desire to leave the Homestead the sum of Sixty Dollars in Currency to be paid her out of my estate by the said Donald Nicholson but not to be paid as long as she may desire to remain on the Homestead.

I ordain and appoint Donald McLeod and John Campbell both of Sparrows Road my executors of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal and declare this to be my last will and testament in the presence of the Witnesses named below this Twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty six.

Signed sealed and delivered by the said Norman Nicholson as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto by affixing his mark.

Codicil

Whereas by my last will and testament dated January 20th 1886 I gave to my daughter Margaret Nicholson the sum of Sixty Dollars I do hereby by this present writing which I declare to be a Codicil to my said Will give and bequeath to my said daughter Margaret Nicholson a further sum of Two Hundred and Forty Dollars to be paid to her out of my estate within one year after my decease.

And I hereby ratify and Confirm my aforesaid Will in all respects except so far as changed or altered by this Codicil.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal and publish and declare this to be a Codicil to my last will and testament in the presence of the witnesses named below this Twenty Eighth day of May in the Year 1890.
