Last Will and Testament of William H Campbell (1855-1919, Irishtown)

I William H Campbell of Irishtown in Lot 20, in Queen's County, in Prince Edward Island, Farmer, do hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament dated this thirteenth day of March A.D. 1917. I hereby name and appoint my son Alexander H Campbell of Irishtown and my son-in-law James Archibald Campbell of Graham's Road as executors of this my last Will and Testament.

To my wife Priscilla E Campbell I give and bequeath to her all my real and personal property, farm machinery and stock and household effects to be hers absolutely for and during her natural lifetime or so long as she may remain my lawful widow.

To my daughters Margaret Ellen, Ida Myrtle and Edith I order and direct that they shall have a home in the homestead and support so long as they may wish to reside there and remain single, and that they perform their reasonable share of the house work. I further direct that should my daughter Myrtle choose to leave the homestead that she shall be paid the sum of three hundred dollars by my son Oliver and to be paid within twelve months of her doing so.

To my son Oliver Campbell I give devise and bequeath to him all my real and personal property, farm machinery and stock and household effects remaining at the decease of my said wife Priscilla E Campbell to be his absolutely and forever. I hereby provide and direct that my said son Oliver Campbell shall perform all the necessary farm work on the homestead farm for the benefit of my said wife and said daughters free of charge or compensation. I hereby direct my said executors to pay all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses out of my Estate.

The Petition of Alexander H. Campbell of Irishtown in Queens County aforesaid Farmer and James Archibald Campbell of Graham's Road In said County, Farmer

I HUMBLY SHEWETH

1 That your Petitioners are the executors of the last Will and Testament of William H Campbell the above named deceased

2 That the said Deceased departed this life on the fifth day of March A.D. 1919 having previously made and executed a paper writing dated the thirteenth day or March A.D. 1917 purporting to be his last Will and Testament which to herewith produced.

3 That the said Deceased is survived by the following, his heirs and heiresses at law and next of kin.

(a) Priscilla E Campbell wife of the said deceased, aged 61 yrs

(b) Alexander H Campbell, Irishtown, son of said deceased, 36 yrs

(c) Annie Jane Williams, wife of William Williams of Dorchester, Mass, daughter of the said deceased,aged 38 yrs.

(d) Emeline Campbell wife of James A Campbell of Grahams Road, daughter of the said deceased, aged 33 years.

(e) Edith Bernard wife of Ansel Bernard of Indian River PEI daughter of the said deceased, aged 22 years

(f) Margaret E Campbell daughter of the said deceased, aged 29 yrs

(g) Ida Myrtle Campbell daughter of the said deceased aged 27 yrs

(h) Oliver Campbell son of the said deceased aged 24 yrs

4 That the said deceased left an Estate In this Province consisting of Real Estate of the value of approximately Twelve Hundred Dollars and of Personal Property of the value of approx fifteen hundred and ninety five dollars.Cash In the Bank of Nova Scotia Kensington Branch $475.87

5 Your petitioners are desirous of having the said Will admitted to Probate and therefore pray that Your Honor may be pleased to allow the said paper writing as the last Will and Testament of the said deceased William H Campbell and Probate granted to them as such executors.

And Your Petitioners as In duty bound will ever pray.
