The examinations for the I, II, and III grades were conducted orally, whilst those for the IV and V grades were written. The results of holding examinations of this kind have been very much marked and have been the means of inciting keen competition which in itself is one of the best means whereby the teacher may develop the resources of the pupils entrusted to his or her care.

Examinations for the different classes will therefore be held at the end (say the last three days) of each quarter. A general examination will be held at the end of each half year when prizes will be awarded for efficiency in the different grades.

J. L. KENNEDY, Teacher.
