Will of John Giles, Little York, Lot 34, will v.9 p.928 filed June 9, 1880:


"In the name of God Amen. I John Giles of Little York Township Number (34) Thirty four in Prince Edward Island Farmer being weak in body but of sound disposing mind memory and understanding Do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say I give devise and bequeath to my dear wife Ann Giles the farm on which I now reside containing fifty acres of land or thereabouts (part thereof being held by me under lease from the Messrs. Montgomery and part under lease from Mr Winsloe for long terms of years) together with the dwelling house outhouses and all appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging. To Hold the said Farm and Premises to my said wife for the term of her natural life with full power to my said wife to give devise or dispose of the same by her last sill and Testament in such way and manner as she shall think fit and expedient to and amongst my Children or Grand Children or some of them - it being my will and intent that my said dear wife shall have the full enjoyment of the said Property for life, but that after her decease it shall go to such one or more of my Children or Grandchildren in such way and manner and under such directions as she shall limit or appoint to her last will and Testament or other writing in nature thereof and in default of such direction or limitation then the same upon the decease of my said wife shall go to my grandchildren Martha Brown and George Hooper to be divided equally between them and to their several and respective Executors administrators and assigns the said George Hooper his Executors administrator and assign however in such case to be liable for the support and maintenance of his mother Mary Winchester my daughter during her life time in case she shall survive her present husband Samuel Winchester and the said George Hooper's said share of the said premises shall be charged and chargeable with the same accordingly


And as to my Household Furniture Horses Cattle Sheep Goods Chattels farming stock and personal Estate and all other my Property and Effects whatsover not hereinbefore mentioned I give and bequeath the same to my said dear wife. To Hold to her and her Executors, Administrators and Assigns for ever - And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said wife sole Executrix of this my will.
In witness whereof I the said John Giles have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eighth day of January One thousand eight hundred and fifty three.

This will was proved on the eighth June 1880 on the oath of John Longworth a subscribing witness.
