The Will of Joseph Visey (-1865, Lot 49)


LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

In the name of God Amen I Joseph Visey of Lot or Township number 49 farmer of Prince Edward Island being very sick but of sound health and understanding, thanks be to God do hereby make this my Last Will and Testament in the manner following. I will and bequeath to my wife Mary Visey, all my property namely fifty acres of Freehold land situated in said Township subject however to a mortgage on the aforesaid farm with all cows sheep horses, pigs and all other animals aforesaid farm with all the utensils used for farming at __?__ in my possession together with all houses and utensils, whatsoever and after her death the aforesaid shall belong to my son Joseph Visey should not my son Alexander come back and claim the same, as I had intended it for him, but still the aforesaid Alexander Visey shall pay unto the aforesaid Joseph any claim he may have against said farm and with respect to my daughter Lucy Visey she shall claim from the property the sum of Thirty pounds cash to be paid her if required in two instalments at intervals of at least one year from the time of claim.

CODICIL
I Joseph Visey of Lot 49 Farmer do make this Codicil to my Last Will and Testament certify I do hereby in addition to the aforesaid Will with respect to my daughter Lucy Visey do make over unto her foe her sole use and benefit two cows seven sheep and the increase of both with liberty of garden and her living off the place the same as she always had, provided that she shall work the same as formerly when able.

PROVED
The Will and Codicil above written were proved on the 17th Aug 1865 on the oath of John Wright, subscribing witness thereto respectively.
