The Will of Alexander Forbes, (- 1875, Queens County)

In the name of God Amen.

I Alexander Forbes the Elder of Lot forty eight Queen County Prince Edward Island Farmer being of sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament.

1st I give and devise to my son Daniel Forbes his heirs and assign's the homestead farm whereon I now live (bounded as follows on the north by the boundary between me and my son John Forbes on the west by land in the possession of Benjamen Stewart, on the South by the line between me and my son Alexander Forbes and on the east by the line between myself and Peter Stewart Miller) containing of about forty acres together with the house in which I now live barn livestock and farming implements also I give to my said Son Daniel Forbes the yearly rent of twenty five acres of land which I leased to my son John Forbes amounting to the sum of twenty seven shillings. I give likewise to my said son Daniel Forbes the yearly rent of thirty acres of land which I leased to my son Alexander Forbes at the yearly rent of one shilling per acre sterling to have and to hold the above properties from the said Daniel Forbes and his heirs and assigns during the remainder of the term of said lease.

2nd I give and bequeath to my daughters Elizabeth Margret and Catherine Forbes, respectively the sum of thirteen pounds to each to be paid to them by my sons Daniel Forbes and Alexander Forbes that is to say my son Daniel Forbes shall pay to each of my said three daughters the sum of five pounds, also my son Alexander Forbes shall pay to each of my three daughters Elizabeth Margret and Catherine the sum of eight pounds currency to be paid to them at the end of Three years from that date.

Also I give to my daughter Elizabeth one Clock one chest of drawers the bed and bedclothes on which I now lay and the end of the house which she now occupies so long as she remains unmarried and occupies it.

I give unto my daughter Margret one spinning wheel and one small table.

I will that my son Daniel Forbes pay the amount of the mortgage which the heirs of the late James Mutch holds upon my property.

I ordain and appoint Charles Stewart Donaldson and Stephen Bovyer Esq as Executors of this my last will and Testament.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal and publish this to be my last will and Testament, in the presence of the witnesses named below, this nineteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven.
