Submitter’s notes: Benjamin Sencabaugh (1798 - 1864), was the fourth son of William Sencabaugh the Loyalist and his wife Ruhamah Hugh or Hughes. Benjamin’s first wife, Elizabeth LeLacheur, the mother of all of his children, predeceased him in 1846. In 1848 he married Mary VanIderstine (1807 - 1889), Daughter of John VanIderstine and Nancy Fraser.

In the Name of God Amen.
The Twenty ninth Day of January One thousand Eight hundred & sixty three.
I Benjamin Sencabaugh bequeath unto my wife Mary VanIdestine one half of the House and half of the furniture Bedstead Bed and Clothing to remain in her Possession as long as she remains in Widowhood but if married all is to remain on the Farm and if not married she is to have her living of the farm.
I bequeath unto my Daughters Ruhamy Elizabeth Ann Charlotte Jane & Sarrah the Sum of ten Shillings Currency to be paid in the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy or before.
I also bequeath unto my Daughter Susannah N. Sencabaugh my [containing fifty acres] Farm half of the House half of the furniture one Horse Five head of Cattle five Sheep and all out houses with farming and Dairy utensils. Susannah is to support Mary and Margret while the(sic) remain with her and if
Margret gets married the said Susannah is to give her one Heifer if Susannah should leave the Farm she will forfit her claim .
I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty ninth Day of January One thousand Eight hundred & Sixty three.
Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Benjamin Sencabaugh as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our Names.
And I further make constitute and ordain James Sencabaugh and David Crichton Executors of this my last will and Testament in Witness hereof to act in behalf of my Family
