In the name of God Amen.

I David Rofs of Uigg Lot Number Fifty, Queen’s County, in the Province of Prince Edward Island, Esquire, being advanced in years but of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding. Thanks be to God.

Do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, as follows (1st & 2), I give devise and bequeath to my dutiful son Lauchlin Rofs his heirs and assigns forever; all my Real and Personal Estate, subject to the conditions and bequests hereinafter mentioned, that is to say my beloved wife Annie Martin to have a life interest in and to one half part of my dwelling house and of the moveables therein (now) contained with the privileges and comforts thereof for her use and benefit, and also to be paid annually by my said son from and of the proceeds of my said Estate the yearly sum of eighty dollars ($80.00) first payment to be made within one year after my decease and to continue payable thereafter in cash and every year during her life time (or as much thereof as she may demand yearly, the same being in lieu of all her Dower or other. (3) I give and bequeath to my son Alexander Rofs the sum of one hundred and twenty dollors ($120.00) the greater part thereof being due to him. (4th) I give and bequeath to my son Donald Rofs one horse (or in lieu the sum of seventy five dollars ($75.00) if prefered by him. (5th) I give and bequeath to my daughters viz: Sarah Rofs, Margaret Rofs, Catherine Rofs each the sum of sixteen ($16.00). (6th) I give and bequeath to my daughter Christina wife of Jeremiah Smith in addition to portion given, the sum of one dollar ($1.00). (7th) I give and bequeath to my youngest daughter Issabella Rofs now living with me, the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00). (8th) and lastly I nominate and appoint Donald Rofs and Alexander McLeod of Orwell Farmers, Executors of this my last Will and Testament.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto my Hand and Seal. Subscribed and set this thirty first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six and published and declare this as and for my last will and testament.

Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Testator in our presence and in the presence of each other and by his request subscribe our names as witnesses thereto.

In Probate Court P.E. Island 53rd Vic. A. D. 1890

The within Will having been presented for Probate. Donald Ross Esq. One of the subscribing witnesses thereto, made oath, that he was present and did see the said Testator sign his name thereto and affix his seal and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament that when Testator so did he was of sound disposing mind and memory according to this Deponent’s best discerning that he subscribed his name as a witness thereto in the presence of the said Testator and that Norman McLean and Donald McLeod severally subscribed their names as witnesses thereto at the same time.
